Driving with any Volkswagen vehicle is fun especially when you can see and feel
the fresh and clean carpet interior. But when a little dent of imperfection is
visible on your interior, inconvenience would surely sets in that made you want
to re-route your destination and head for the nearest car wash to refresh your
interior which would cost money of your pocket which is suppose to go somewhere
else. But before this would happen, make sure that you have proper protection
by keeping the weatherstrip in perfect condition.
A weatherstrip is a rubber molded material that could be located at the side
of the doors, trunk, and windows. This helps keep the unwanted outside materials
from entering the interior. During the dry season, when dirt and dust freely dominates
the road, the weatherstrip helps to prevent these from entering and penetrating
the interior’s carpet and upholstery. This keeps the interior freshly looking
and clean that could be maintained for a long period of time. On the rainy days,
as the Volkswagen manages to keep it excellently sturdy on the road, the weatherstrip
keeps the interior dry without any spots of water from the outside. With a perfect
weatherstrip, the interior is protected from any natural elements that are potentially
harmful.
But if you feel that your interior is easily penetrated with dirt and water,
you should check the weatherstrip for damages and imperfection. If you spot one,
you should replace it with a new one. Removing the weatherstrip would require
a cleaning solvent, rags and other necessary tools. Make sure that the weatherstrip
is completely removed including those that have stuck to the panels of the vehicle
so that when the new weatherstrip is installed, you will not experience the same
problem before you replace the old weatherstrip.
