Europeans have always been a patron of the hatchback and station wagon body style. This is probably why Volkswagen, a major European vehicle manufacturer, has a lot of hatchbacks in their vehicle line-up. Sadly, however, the hatchback body style is not as popular for Americans as they are for the Europeans. And while many Americans love the style and European look of Volkswagen vehicles, they would rather purchase a Volkswagen sedan model over a hatchback. So, does this mean that American Volkswagen lovers would not experience the functionality that the Volkswagen hatchbacks have to offer? Probably not! The trunk lid is a hinged panel used as a covering for the trunk or luggage compartment of cars. They are often made from sheet-metal, although other vehicles are equipped with carbon fiber or fiberglass trunk lids.
