From engineering classic vehicles as well as contemporary models, Volkswagen can’t be set aside. As a well known and respected car brand in the industry, this name definitely has built its own strong reputation in innovation and engineering. And upon years of experience in producing wide range of platforms, Volkswagen came across hard and wicked times that molded it into a more strong entity, devising efficient ways to move on and continue reaching the goals.
As it battles against other car makers and its own weaknesses, Volkswagen produced the Corrado. It’s another proof that VW can really make a difference. Volkswagen Corrado was a two-door four-passenger compact sports car built in 1988 at Osnabruck, Germany, the origin of people’s cars. This car featured traits that are also present in the so called Volkswagen A platform vehicles.
Volkswagen Corrado initially speeds its way through highways Equipped with either 133 horsepower generating 1.8-liter 16-valve engine or supercharged 1.8-liter 4-cylinder powertrain that kicks 160 horses known as the G60. The latter engine was also used some Volkswagen Passats and Volkswagen Golfs. When year 1992 broke, two engines came out two power the Corrado, the 2.0-liter 16-valve which was an upgraded version of 1.8-liter engine, and the VR6, known as a revolutionary design due to the combinations of V-shaped and Straight engine’s beneficial traits. The VR6 engine that’s marketed in European lands was a 2.8-liter that can bring 190 horsepower. It's also the engine known to be the technological tour de force for Volkswagen.
The Car, a British magazine considered Volkswagen Corrado as one of the “25 Cars You Must Drive Before You Die”. One thing that would stick to the minds of the people, Volkswagen Corrado according to the critics is the best handling front wheel drive car produced in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
