Toyota Supra

There are many vehicles of different types, models and platforms available in the market nowadays; the glory of the automotive industry is not something that is new to everybody, especially those that are closely connected with the industry. The automotive industry has been ever since booming and is still growing big with all the performance and elegance each and every vehicle coming out for each model year from every automaker. Toyota is one motor company that continues to provide the market with different vehicles form their designs and innovative technology. The Toyota Supra is one vehicle model that Toyota has produced and introduced in the market; and it’s only among the many units the company has.

The Toyota Supra was introduced in the market in 1979 as Toyota’s sports car. It was built and designed as a legacy to Toyota’s former super sport scar which is the 2000GT; both the GT and the Supra carried a common chassis code of “A”. The first generation of Toyota Supra vehicles was called the Toyota Celica Supra Mk 1 that and were produced from 1979 to 1981; these Supra models was mainly based on Toyota’s Celica liftback although it was longer by 5.1 inches and has a wider overall. On the other hand, the second generation of these vehicles has new designs apart from the Celica and was called the Toyota Celica Supra Mk 2; these were produced from 1982 to 1986. The Toyota Supra Mk 3 was produced from 1986 to 1992; in this generation, the Celica and the Supra became two different models. Lastly, the Toyota Supra Mk 4 was totally redesigned; these were produced from 1993-1998/2002.

All Toyota Supra models, from different generations, carried and sported many types and kinds of equipments for luxurious and comfortable riding. Driving was also fun as it has a sporty feel and appeal. Specially designed Toyota parts were included in every Supra model to complement the elegance and the performance it promised. Due however to decline of sales, Toyota decided to discontinue the Supra in 2002. There is a plan, though, of reviving the Supra in 2006/2007.
