The Toyota Land Cruiser is a series of vehicle produced by the Toyota Motor Corporation. These Land Cruisers are four-wheel drive automobiles that started as a restricted utility vehicle but soon emerged as a sport utility vehicle or better recognized as SUV. Toyota vehicles are known for durability, reliability and excellent handling and driving performance, and since the Land Cruiser is a bona fide member of the Toyota fleet, it certainly has the same quality as that of any other Toyota products.
Conceived in the year 1951, the Toyota Land Cruiser BJ is said to be the foundation and forerunner from which all other models and versions of the Land Cruisers. For over half a decade now, the compact 4x4 vehicle has surprisingly stood up the test of time and marketing demand. Shortly after the Land Cruiser BJ, the Land Cruiser 20 and 30 Series followed through until after 29 years when the 40 Series came to evolve. Compared to the BJ, the 20 Series had a fresh design loaded with driving comfort features and a roomy interior.
While the 40 Series is continuously produced, the Toyota 50 Series and 60 Series also existed simultaneously. The 50 Series gave solution and completely satisfied the problem of bigger body vehicles to carry extra passengers and cargoes. The 60 Series were the final set of vehicles to belong in the new markets of the Toyota line up. These 60 Series vehicles feature a wider tread to cope with top-heaviness by providing more stability when taking a turn on corners.
And for the Luxury Toyota Land Cruisers, the 70-Series together with the 80 Series and later on the 90 Series and 100 Series vehicles were born after one another. As the final Toyota Land Cruiser for the luxury period, an all-new version was introduced. It has the full off-road capability to match its growing leisure market and the addition of the great on-road driving pleasure with new standards of premium car quality and comfort.
