For quite a long time now since the late 18th century, automobile manufacturing groups and companies came to evolve one after the other. These car makers hailed from different parts of the world with a goal of finding a perfect niche in the automotive industry but unfortunately, many of the car brands no longer exist as separate companies, some are totally extinct and some are owned by larger companies like the Scion brand. Scion is a United States-only division of the Toyota Motor Corporation which was founded in 2003, and its is also a marque under the Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.
Young as the Scion brand is, it did not had a hard time creating its own name as it took on the challenge of coming up with vehicle models that will compete with the long trusted products of the well established automobile makers easily. To date, Scion showcases only three models to which are the xA, xB and tC. The first two models are both rebadged Japanese market cars, named Ist and bB, correspondingly, while the tC model is a new design based on the European-market Toyota Avenis. These models are not to be disregarded for they too have something to prove.
The Scion XB is an American-market name given to a subcompact car Toyota bB which is a car in a vehicle size class smaller than a compact car but larger than a microcar. The Scion xB is a small wagon based on Toyota’s Yaris platform. The xB was one of the two models in the lineup of Toyota’s US-exclusive Scion division that were present at the 2004 brands launch. Although the xA was perceived to outsell the xB, the contrary happened with the xB selling 2 units for every 1 unit of xA sold.
