Pontiac do not offer a lot of sport utility vehicles and multi-purpose vehicles in their yearly vehicle line-up, but the few that the company gets to offer are often enough to amaze a lot of vehicle buyers. Take the Pontiac Aztek as an example. Not many people may like the style of the Pontiac Aztek per se, but the vehicle as a whole is surely amazing. It has a lot of features and components that makes it very functional. And if you’re thinking about tailgate parties, you’ll be relieved that the Aztek has a wonderful tailgate, complete with cup holders and space for seating two persons.
Now, you don’t have to own a Pontiac Aztek just to feel the practicality that its tailgate has. If you own a Pontiac SUV or MPV, or even an old Pontiac station wagon, it probably is equipped with a high quality tailgate. And while these Pontiac tailgates may not have all the features that the tailgate of the Pontiac Aztek offers, it can still perform its basic function well. After all, the tailgate was made primarily to allow easier access to the cargo area for loading and unloading cargos. And should you want to use your Pontiac for a tailgate party, you can still do so as all Pontiac tailgates are rigid and tough enough to serve as tables in tailgate parties.
Not all Pontiac SUVs, MPVs, and station wagons, however, are equipped with Pontiac tailgates. Some Pontiac cargo-haulers are rather equipped with lift gates. What’s the difference? Well, tailgates are fold down access doors and for most SUVs and station wagons, the windows of these components must first be lowered before the tailgate can actually be folded. Lift gates, on the other hand, are opened by lifting or raising it rather than folding it down. Some Pontiac vehicles are equipped with tailgates; some with lift gates; and others with both. Both components, however, shares the function of allowing easier access to the cargo area and protecting the cargo from falling apart while the vehicle is running.
