From the five-passenger Coach, Pontiac expanded in producing different platforms. It evolved to form the Big Six. The convertible, coupe and sedan then joined in. Further improvements then came as General Motors Corporation extended its expertise to the division. Consequently, Pontiac emerged to be one of GM’s respected marques. And as a part of the largest car manufacturer in the world, Pontiac dedicatedly moved with its commitment of providing satisfying innovations.
Pontiac has been known for creating superior luxury cars, but never stuck within that line. It also tried to produce platforms that are considerably ideal for most people. Among the full sized Pontiac automobiles is the Catalina. The name Catalina was initially used to strictly refer to hardtop body styles that first appeared in 1950 Chieftain Eight and DeLuxe Eight Lines. After almost a decade, Pontiac Catalina was separated to become a full series full-size Pontiac entry level.
Pontiac Catalina stood to be the high volume series of the division over many years. It has got power that captivates true driving and in the 1960’s was actually often considered as a performance car when properly equipped. All Pontiacs deliver almost the same strengths since nearly all powertrain and drivetrain combinations were featured on all model lines. That capability was enhanced by the additions and styling that was pampered to it. And every time Catalina is being released to the market, it surely comes in with unique surprises, might be within the performance or displayed through its makers sense of fashion. Aside from these, which we can consider as ordinary, comfort and convenience are as well given extra attention. Thus the platform could continue to compete with its rivals.
Pontiac Catalina is incomparable to how Pontiac Bonneville, the model that replaced it for Catalina existed only for three decades while Bonneville lives for already fifty years now.
