Built by Mitsubishi in Japan, the Plymouth Colt was virtually similar to the Colt sold at Dodge manufacturers and were identical to the Mitsubishi Mirage and the Eagle Summit. But then, the Plymouth Colt has its own qualities to show off, qualities that its Dodge namesake and Mitsubishi and Chrysler stable mates does not have. Just like any other Plymouth vehicle, the Colt was again the lower-end or economy version of the Plymouth cars.
Not unlike the related Mirage, the Colt and other similar autos were well used in rallying, both in the United States and abroad. It was the most widely utilized of these variants, which appears in events in 1970s through 1980s.
Colt may be a small car, but it is big in a lot of ways, and that includes the model choice. It was offered in coupes, hardtops, sedans, and station wagons. Plus there is also the new GT available in the Colt line. All these are equipped with the best and the finest facilities ever. Another good thing about the Plymouth Colt is that some of its standard amenities are just optional on big cars.
This includes the adjustable steering column that lets you set the steering wheel to your most comfortable driving position and the high-back bucket seats, though not available in coupes. The 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder engine is very powerful for being so small. It also offers the best fuel economy rating among the other Mitsubishi Mirage based cars. Through its existence, many changes and improvements have been made to the Plymouth Colt.
