Nowadays, it is almost impossible to find anything that fits into the “truly affordable” category. One aspect is that even the low-end Asian imports are loaded up with high-cost and high-profit features. But fasten your seat belts for the Plymouth Breeze is here to rework that equation.
The Plymouth Breeze was the third version of Chrysler Corporation's JA front-drive sedan. This auto was produced to offer the mid-size market a lower-priced sedan yet can blow away the competition for it carries all the qualities you look for in a car.
The Plymoutn Breeze together with its twins, Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Cirrus were produced in 1996 as a family sedan wearing affordable price tags. It is one of the three “cloud cars” of Chrysler. Of the three (Cirrus, Stratus, and Breeze), the Plymouth Breeze is the “stripped down” version.
Being the lower model, it comes standard with a 2.0 L SOHC 4 cylinder motor with the option of a 2.4 L DOHC 4 cylinder. Aside from the power it could give, the Plymouth Breeze is also packed with standard features like air conditioning, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, AM/FM stereo, tilt steering column, dual front airbags and power front-disc-rear-drum brakes.
The round and fluid exterior shape of the Plymouth Breeze flows rearward from the body-colored prow and blunt hood to a massive raked windshield, which then lips over a brief lid before tapering to the stubbed tail. Words are not enough to describe this sedan, but one thing is for sure, Plymouth Breeze truly provides an exhilarating experience, functions like a practical sedan but performs more like an agile coupe.
