Oldsmobile Dynamic
It is nice to know that a vehicle can provide safe and sound travel to every passenger it carries. But, it is nicer to know that there is one vehicle that is designed to give one special sector in the society the luxury of driving once more. I am talking about the Oldsmobile Dynamic that was produced for soldiers who have lost a limb during the the war.
The concept was, to promote the Hydra-matic drive that was introduced before the war and combine it with the automatic transmission that was already developed for tanks. The result? Giving every soldier missing a limb with the Hydra-matic automatic transmission. The Dynamic was one of the best vehicle choice after the war.
The Oldsmobile Dynamic offered several additions like the turn signals, enlarged break pedal, interior and exterior rear view mirrors, heat, windshield washer, and back up lights among others.
The Dynamic has also appeared in almost every series Oldsmobile has made (66, 68, 76, 78, 88, and Dynamic 98), which gave the model the luxury to provide several styles and engine options for a longer period of time. The style was maintained updated as the vehicle preference shifted year after year.
The first number of the two numbers series represent the body size while the second represent engine type. So the Dynamic 66 was the smallest with 119” wheelbase with a V6 engine. The 68 was the same vehicle a V8 enige while the 98 was the longest Dynamic with a V8.
