Nissan 260z
Originally, the Nissan Motor Company started in the year 1914, but it was only in the 1930s when the company started to use "Nissan" as its name and Datsun as another trademark from 1932 until 1983. Being one of the prominent Japanese automaker in the world, the Nissan is continuously striving to win the heart and taste of prospective buyers and to meet the demands of Nissan car owners. To date, the Nissan Company had produced numerous good quality cars including the Nissan 260Z. The Nissan 260Z is a sports car that is with an optional 3-speed automatic transmission and the standard 4-speed manual transmission.
Since most of the cars are just the upgraded version of their predecessors, Nissan also thought of taking the performance of Nissan 240Z to a higher level thus giving birth for the Nissan 260Z. The latter is the 240z's increased engine displacement from 2.4 liters to 2.6 liters by the year 1974. 1974 is also Nissan's high time to introduce the 2 + 2 body style having a rear seat that can be folded down; and is Nissan 260Z's only year of existence, recorded a single-year Z-car sales with 63,963 units marketed.
New also for the 260Z is its lowered horsepower which is 139 due to more stringent emission requirements. With the reduced performance of the 260Z, people's desire upon it was also reduced so the Company thought of lowering the price to catch up.
Other improvements for the Nissan 260Z include a more sensibly laid out and easier to work air conditioning controls; additional stiffness in the chassis; heavier, safer, impact-absorbing bumpers; and an increased wheelbase measurement for the back seat space.
Aside from the above mentioned information, everything that the Nissan 240Z has is also being featured by the Nissan 260Z. It was replaced by 280Z in the subsequent year having a bigger engine and an additional of fuel injection and 5-speed manual transmission was given. Cosmetics updates to the exterior were also made.
