of people especially those belonging to the higher class level of
society. The market demand for quality and dependable vehicles are even
rising to an unexpected degree. And automobile manufacturers are more
than glad to oblige; to provide the market with kind of transportation
solution people need. Since there are lots of automakers existing in
the industry today; lots of automobiles in different designs and
platforms are swarming the market; parading display centers, running
around the streets and many others still waiting to be unleashed in
their respective assembly areas. Due, however, to the kind of needs we
have for those vehicles, we need them to be in their best quality.
Hence, most auto enthusiasts and buyers nowadays demand for one common
vehicle characteristic; something in style, that will stand the test of
time and other road obstructions. But, we, buyers should not worry;
most of there automobile manufacturers know their crafts just like how
Mercury did and is still doing. With models like Mercury Montclair, Colony Part, Bobcat, Capri, Commuter, etc. that has withstand even some of
modern automobiles available.
Mercury Montclair was created under Mercury marquee. Mercury was
founded by Ford Motor Company in 1939 meant to market semi-luxury cars.
It was named after the Roman God, Mercury and were known for its fast
cars in its early years. In 1945, Ford merged Mercury with the Lincoln
division, thus making the Lincoln-Mercury Division. It was later joined
by Edsel, making it the Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln Division in 1958; Edsel
was demised in 1960 and the Mercury-Lincoln Division remained since.
Mercury was basically created by Ford Motor Company from scratch; it
gained its first major success as a Ford marquee in the 50's when the
formula of stretching and lowering then existing Ford platforms
generated good results from their target markets. After this success,
sadly, Mercury was overwhelmed when Ford joined its lineups and its
image suffered; its the up and downs for Mercury. But being in the good
hand and with innovative engineering technology, Mercury has managed to
stay in the business and had created many models that sports apt
performance like the Montclair.
The Mercury Montclair was Mercury's full size automobile manufactured
and sold from 1955 to 1960 by the sole Mercury Division. It was then
sold and manufactured form 1964 to 1968 Ford's Lincoln-Mercury
Division. The Montclair was introduced in 1955 to be included in
Mercury's premium automobile line. It was however been set aside in the
premium line upon the introduction of the Turnpike Cruiser in 1957; it
joined the Montclair in 1958 in its push down place when Mercury made
the Park Lane to be its premium vehicle model.
