Older vehicles used an ordinary piece of glass as a windshield but due to its
inefficiency during impact, it was improved. With ordinary piece of glass, the
passengers are prone to fatal injury which is caused by large pieces of windshield
shattering due to accidents or collisions. The windshield was improved and made
tougher. As a result when accidents occur, the windshield will broke into small
crystallized pieces, much safer than the previous. Today, most vehicles used laminated
windshields are made of two curved glass with a rubbery plastic laminate sandwiched
between the two.
