In the world of automobiles, a league of extraordinary manufacturers competes with each other in respect of name and business. Some have already reached the higher level of success, while others are yet to strive more with persistency. Many have begun just several years past, and a few started the fire of the industry. As early as 1880’s, wherein the phase of automotive technology was just starting to boom, Mercedes Benz was born, the reason why it’s said to be the world’s oldest automotive manufacturer. And through years of producing unmatched luxury vehicles, it became known to be the choice of the rich and famous.
Mercedes Benz worked on developing several types of platforms, and in 1993 launched a line of compact luxury sedans, coupes and station wagons that’s called as the Mercedes Benz C-Class. It was considerably built to replace the popular 190 molded. The first segment was comprised of the C180, C200, C220, C230, C240, C250, C280, C36 AMG and C43 AMG. They were first released in the European market and shortly in the United States. However, C180, C200, C240 and C250 were not released in the American market. The technology injected within each trim, the C-Class emerged as an immensely popular line-up, indeed quickly became MB’s bestselling class world wide.
The different models received various types of engines. Equipped in Mercedes Benz C280 was a V6 engine along with its C230 sibling. Technically, the unit was run by a six-cylinder internal combustion piston engine under V configuration, which is considered to be the second most common engine configuration in the modern auto machining. It’s an engine that brings considerable power with a sedan and station wagon that belong to the modern era of auto machining. In the latest edition of Mercedes Benz C280, it’s endowed with a more sophisticated 3.0-liter V6 DOHC SMPI 24-valve engine which is being coupled by a 7-speed automatic transmission system, making 220 horsepower.
2006 Mercedes Benz C280 is practically a luxury vehicle that has improved after more than a decade of evolving. The whole machine is perfect blending of beauty and power that’s pampered with state-of-the-art safety oriented features, such as 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, side door mounted airbags, first and second row overhead curtain airbags, airbag occupancy sensor, BabySmart airbag child seat sensor, ignition disable security, panic alarm and security system, plus lots of comfort and convenience-enhancing amenities.
