Every driver always dream of peaceful, safe, and convenient trip, just enjoying
the site of the road without a clear mind and a certain destination. But when
you can feel the air and all the debris the come along with is, the trip become
annoying and unpleasant especially when the air blows directly to your face. That
is why every vehicle is equipped with windshield.
Windshield controls the air that passes directly in front of the vehicle to keep
the passengers safe from different elements that come with it such as airborne
road debris like dust, rocks, and insects. Windshield also protects the interior
from strong wind and precipitations. Other purpose of a windshield is to deflect
the air from the vehicle so that it would reduce the drag which would result to
better speed at less power or gas requirement. The windshield together with the
windows also secures the interior when the air conditioning is turned on.
Early windshield vehicle are made from ordinary piece of glass which shatters
on large pieces on impact which could be fatal to the driver as well as the passengers.
As a remedy, tougher windshield was made. This windshield allows to break into
small pieces which are less harmful to people. Another improvement was made to
the windshield which is now commonly being used by most of the vehicles. This
windshield is laminated which is made of two curved glass with a rubbery plastic
laminate sandwiched between the two. This plastic laminated windshield is tougher
and more durable in case of impact. It does not easily break nor removed from
the windshield panel of the vehicle that is equated to a safer driving.
