Included in the Mazda automobile lineup is the 2-door Sport Utility Vehicle or SUV of the 90s named Mazda Navajo. As a car manufacturing company, coming up with a good reputation in the automotive industry does not come handy. It takes a lot of hard work and quality cars that are made to perform before you can say that you already won the hearts of car enthusiasts and aficionados. The Mazda Motor Corporation through the Mazda Navajo has done that and more! The Mazda Navajo became 1991 Motor Trend magazine’s Truck of the year!
Just like the other vehicles that came and go, the Mazda Navajo too, had only a nearly half a decade span of production from 1991 until 1994. The Mazda Navajo was a badge engineered Ford Explorer Sport because it was only bought from Ford and that Mazda added its own grille, tail lamps, and minor body trim, and that it was only offered as a 2-door wagon. Its 4.0-liter, V6 engine delivers a 155-horsepower force. It can be driven with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Standard features for the Mazda Navajo include part-time electronic Touch-Drive 4WD system, rear antilock brakes operating only in 2-wheel drive, four seating capacity and a split folding rear seat. Changes were made to every Navajo year model like the rear drive version, the DX base model and a LX` designation adoption for the plusher carryover model was added for the second Navajo season. For the 1993 Navajos, standard features include four-wheel antilock brakes operating in both 2- and 4-wheel drive, and became more powerful. For the closing year, DX and upscale LX editions again were offered, each available with either 2WD or 4WD.
Short as the production year was, Mazda once again has successfully showcased the uniqueness of its brand through the Mazda Navajo! This is one of the reasons why their cars are reaching the different levels of popularity and recognition throughout the years
