Starting a cold engine requires too much power so it requires your Lincoln starter motor to overcome a lot of conflicting forces, which includes the piston rings' internal friction, the cylinders' compression pressure, the energy required to open and close the valves with the camshaft and the energy needed to start the movement of the other components attached to the engine, like the water pump, oil pump, and the like.

So it is very necessary that you include your Lincoln starter in your list whenever you perform your car maintenance to make sure that it is always in good working condition.
