Want to always have your Kia in good shape? Well, if you’re so attached to your
Kia vehicles and always want to have the best features and performance for them;
you should give them proper care and maintenance. And if you’re particular with
its overall performance, then most experts suggest that you subject your Kia vehicle
to a regular tune-up. Most auto experts and owners consider having tune-up at
least every 30,000 miles as the most advisable and appropriate preventive care
and maintenance that will give you an assured smooth and reliable ride.
And during such tune-ups, notice that your Kia’s powerhouse involve components
such as Kia valve cover, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, belts, valves, etc. Priority should be given to valve covers during tune-ups; this is a typical
component of your vehicle’s valve train along with rocker arms, valve springs,
push rods, lifters and cams. All these should always be in their good condition
since they mostly affect the optimum performance of a vehicle.
You’ll need valve covers for your vehicles to protect the valve trains from leakages.
Basically defined as an auto parts that covers the valve train, your valve cover
is designed to be removable so you can easily adjust and replace it. And to have
an assured leak-free ride, be sure to make your valve cover oil-tight at all times.
But, do not over-tighten your screws as it can bend your valve covers; they are
made of very thin sheet metal and cannot withstand the force of an over-tightened
bolt.
However, in case your Kia’s valve covers was bent, you can straightened and reuse
it; this is if you have a sheet metal valve cover. If you have cast aluminum valve
cover, though, you have no choice but to replace it since it’s usually beyond
repair. There should be no problem anyway in finding replacements; you may find
an array of valve covers in most auto parts shops and specifications will depend
on what specific model, model year and trim you have. There are OEM valve covers,
aftermarket, performance, factory stocks or used Kia valve covers that are mostly
available in the market.
