The life of every Jeep expands as its engine works to turn the wheels. And the engine cannot comply with its task without the proper operation of all other parts of the system. One of the essential engine parts is the oil pan. It is the container with which the oil is being collected as it circulates through the system to provide lubrication. Essentially, it keeps oil from spilling onto the ground. The importance of what the oil pan holds is not just to lubricate, this vehicle-lifeblood-considered component also helps in cooling the engine so to provide better performance.
Oil pan is bolted under the engine, at the bottom of the crankcase. It is shaped into a deeper section that houses the oil pump, and usually comes in thin steel that’s open inside. At its bottom is a drain plug which includes magnet for collecting metal fragments that flowed with the oil as it circulates through the engine system. High-performance oil pans on the other hand feature trap doors and baffles that are meant to control the oil during aggressive driving so as to keep it close to the oil pickup for efficient lubrication.
Oil pan is the most prone to leaking than any other auto part. Like all other oil pans, Jeep oil pans need quality oil gaskets in order to prevent oil from spilling. And since they are thin, installing them requires careful process as well as making sure to only get a replacement that has durable quality.
