For an all-terrain vehicle like the Jeep, standard features like headlights are
very essential to answer the demands for a true off-road icon. Jeep headlights
come in pair and are usually mounted at both sides of the front of the vehicle.
It is used during low visibility like nighttime driving to illuminate the road
ahead or poor road conditions like foggy or rainy whether to either see the road
better or give signal to other vehicle about your presence. This helps prevent
road accidents while driving in these conditions.
On road, the Jeep headlights are made of combinations of multiple reflectors
and lamps so that it won’t require high voltage capacity. The Jeep headlights
are usually installed with two modes of illumination: high and low beam. The high
beam casts more light and illuminated the road farther thus providing a good sight
on the road several yards ahead though this setting gives blinding light to the
oncoming drivers. The low beam on the other hand casts enough light to illuminate
the road. The low beam is an advisable mode and generally used while driving on
city streets and urban and suburban areas.
Off road, Jeep headlights are modified to especially when there is a great requirement
for light. Usually, the Jeep is installed with additional sets of lights on top
of the windshield bar. This is composed of either fog lights or floodlights or
combination of the two. This provides high level of terrain illumination compatible
to all-terrain condition. For some, installing additional headlights serve only
the aesthetics purpose. Nonetheless, the Jeep whether it is the Grand Cherokee,
Liberty, or the very popular Wrangler, shows a stunning image that projects a
true off-roader that carried the heritage of the real Jeep.
