Isuzu Ascender
As a replacement for the less popular full-size Isuzu Trooper SUV, the
Ascender promises a big impact to the mid-size SUV division. First
produced in 2003, the Ascender was launched as a 7-seater hailed as the
most powerful SUV to ever wear the Isuzu badge. A year later, the
7-seater is joined with its little brother, the Ascender 5-seater.
The powerful 4.2 L Inline V6 engine is capable of producing up to
291 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. The 277 foot-pound of torque pushes the
Ascender 5-seater as well as the 7. Another engine offered for the
7-seater is the 5.3 L V8 that is rated at 300 horsepower at 5,200 rpm
that produced 330 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. The
front-engine/rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive Ascender is offered in a
4-speed automatic with lockup torque converter with an independent
coil-over-shock with upper and lower control arms and hydraulic
double-acting shock absorbers for the front and 5-link with coil
springs and direct hydraulic double-acting shock absorbers for the
rear.
Interior provides a lot of space both for the 5- and 7-seater.
Seats gives comfort and leg room provides room for movements. Both the
interior and the exterior are stylish and packed with every standard
equipment you need for a vehicle. The Isuzu Ascender is one of the
cheapest SUVs in its class.
