Honda is the Japanese manufacturer of innovative and technologically updated cars that have dominated US and the world with their wondrous automobiles. The original Honda was not totally involved in making automobiles. Soichiro Honda, its founder, started the business as a piston manufacturer and a sub-contractor of Toyota. But there comes the time that Japan was badly in need of inexpensive means of transportation, Honda started to produce a range of scooters and motorcycles. It has stayed to develop and expand over the years and in 1970, Honda became the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world.

But then, people want something more like a four-wheel drive vehicle, so Honda then again started to manufacture cars, most of which are intended for the Japanese market only. It tried to invade the American market later but unable to do so, until 1972, that's when they released the Honda Civic. It was a success and it serves as Honda's inspiration to creating top performing cars, equipped with durable parts. One Honda parts that contributes to its great handling ability is the Honda body panel. Honda body panels are among the Honda parts that are very significant for it contributes to your safety in any event of collision.

Body panels comprises of a rear body panel, front panel and a rocker panel. The rear body panel is the sheet metal that is assembled to cover the rearmost part of the rear doors of both sides of the vehicle and the back part of the car. On most cars, the rear body panels are adjoined with the car's roof. The front quarter panel is usually a separate piece that is welded on in a few places. It is comprised of the body skin, or sheet metal, which runs from the front corner of the car's hood to the front of the door. While the rocker panels that are usually coated with a rock proof protectant which rubberizes the exterior surface before the car is painted is a three or four inch piece of metal that runs down the bottom of the car body beneath the doors.
