The GMC brand has always been associated with power and so far, no other vehicle brand seems capable enough to dispute the association. Indeed, GMC vehicles are very powerful and capable, equipped only with high performance and very powerful engines. And why shouldn’t they be, when GMC trucks, vans and SUVs comprise the majority of the large and powerful vehicles being sold by the General Motors Corporation.
All power, however, is simply not enough to attract many vehicle buyers toward GMC vans, trucks and SUVs. While a lot of people would surely appreciate the performance and capability being showcased by GMC vehicles, these characteristics are simply not enough to make them purchase any of the vehicles. As important to the power of the vehicle for the vehicle owner is the comfort it can provide while driving. That’s why GMC has also equipped all their vehicles with enough comfort and convenience features to make driving comfortable. And to maintain and protect the comfort provided by these features, they also equipped their vehicles with high quality GMC weatherstrips.
A weatherstrip, or weatherstripping material, is a rubber strip or lining that is fitted on the doors, windows and trunk of a vehicle to make them watertight. With a high quality weatherstrip, the cool air generated by the air conditioning system of your vehicle is prevented from escaping its cabin. It also protects the vehicle’s interior from extreme exterior temperatures.
When new, the weatherstripping of your GMC truck, van or SUV can effectively maintain the atmosphere of comfort inside the vehicle. But as the vehicle grows old and the weatherstrips starts to deteriorate and loosen, cool air will eventually get past the GMC weatherstrip. Worst is if moisture starts to penetrate the interior of your vehicle because of loose weatherstripping, as it may be the cause of rust development inside the vehicle’s cabin.
So if the weatherstrip of your GMC is already loose, better replace it at once with the high quality replacement GMC weatherstrips widely available in the market today. And if you are replacing the weatherstrip of your GMC’s windows, also include with your purchase the window felt that comes with the replacement GMC weatherstrip, as it can further protect the interior of your vehicle from moisture.
