GMC Typhoon
The performance of a vehicle counts much for it to be appreciated in the current
automotive market that we have; enthusiasts nowadays seems to choose their next
prized possessions based on the extreme appeal and elegance a vehicle offers and
more so with the optimum power performance it exudes in an amazing condition.
As there are many automobile manufacturer in the industry, competition are tight
where every automaker needs to convince their target market that they are the
best among others; and GMC is one of those vying in the competing arena in the
world of cars. GMC offers different models and platforms of vehicles exuding distinctive
performance and alluring appeal which includes the GMC Typhoon model.
The GMC Typhoon was introduced in the market in 1992 as the
high-performance version of GMC’s SUV, the Jimmy. The Typhoon was
created based on the 1991 pickup truck model of GMC Syclone. Although
the GMC Typhoon was produced and being offered only for two consecutive
years, its one GMC model that really portrays distinctive GMC
performance. Along with its companion model, the Syclone, GMC Typhoon
offered powertrain features such as a Mitsubishi TD06-17C/8cm2
turbocharger and a Garett Water/Air intercooler attached to a 4.3 Liter
LB4 V6 engine; this engine features parts such as pistons, main caps,
head gaskets, intake manifolds, fuel system, exhaust manifolds and
throttle body featured mainly on a 5.7 Liter small-block engine from
General Motors.
Aside from the unique engine features mentioned above, the Typhoon also features
enough equipment for safety and comforts. This vehicle features an all-wheel drive,
an upgraded brake and a sport modified standard suspensions. The Typhoon was built
from 1992-1993 for GMC by the Production Automotive Services located in Michigan.
