GMC Suburban

The name Suburban stands for the windowed commercial frame station wagon. It is one of the longest-lived automobile nameplates in the United States. Suburban was built under several companies, but among them only General Motors Corporation continued the production. Thus GM received exclusive trademark on the name Suburban.

GMC Suburban will always be connected to its sister company Chevy, for GMC brought its first Suburban in 1937 just two years after Chevrolet introduced its own. It was then known as the Suburban Carryall. But due to the booming of the sport utility vehicle production, it was branded to as what we now know as the Suburban and competed with the class.

Generation after generation, GMC Suburban was built to have the latest improvements in the technological innovations of the Corporation. GM ensures to power pack it with respectable equipments and powertrains, plus other devices and accessories crafted to improve its performance and at the same time enhance its appeal. And before any unit leave the manufacturing plant, its designers made sure that it has got fine finish and boasts a body of superior sense of style.

The 1990 to 2000 full size Suburban SUVs, featured three-row seating within a full pickup truck frame. They were powered by V8 engine that brought poor performance when it comes to fuel economy that led to its criticism. They were also criticized for featuring a characteristic of hauling great cargo. The latter may sound weird, but it happened because the vehicle seemed to get too much.

GM continued to produce Suburban for its Chevy and GMC. But upon the changes in the industry and in the corporation itself, the name Suburban became limited only for Chevrolet. Today GMC features Yukon XL for the Suburban version instead of having the same as it did before.
