Power. Capability. Uneven Pavements. There are many things that can be associated with GMC vehicles but these three would surely make it at the top of the list. Every GMC vehicle is equipped with top notch suspension systems that allow them to capably traverse a rough and rocky track while not giving their passengers any hint of the road condition. This system, of course, is made up of various high quality suspension parts like springs, shock absorbers, and anti-sway bars. At the top of these high performance suspension parts are the GMC struts.
A strut is a special kind of dampening structure in the suspension system of many vehicles. It acts like a shock absorber but tends to have more functions. Actually, a basic strut assembly is made up of a shock absorber unit, a coil spring, an upper pivot, and a lower control arm. The whole assembly acts as a dampening structure, like shock absorbers, and also provides structural support for the vehicle suspension. Most vehicles today are equipped with strut assemblies instead of just the regular shock absorbers.
High quality GMC struts make the suspension system of your GMC more capable, thus allowing you to feel comfortable even in the roughest and rockiest roads. GMC struts, however, are not indestructible and through constant use and amidst too much damage, you would find the need to replace them with new ones. Sometimes, only some parts of the strut assembly would get damaged or worn out. But no matter what, it is always recommended that you replace the strut assembly as a whole.
