Poor visibility conditions that can either be during nighttime or precipitation
can affect the nature of driving. During these periods, driving can be difficult
without the headlights- the most useful part of the GMC in this situation. Without
these, the driver cannot see the oncoming traffic as well as his way. The driver
also cannot warn other vehicles about his presence that might probably create
accident on the road. That is why every GMC vehicle must be equipped with headlights.
GMC headlights are mounted with the purpose of illuminating the road ahead during
periods of low visibility, such as night or rain. Usually found at the front of
the vehicle, the GMC headlights are made from combinations of multiple reflectors
and lamps that do not need a high voltage capacity thus very economical in the
long run. It also comes in pair and attached on the both sides that made it very
easy for the driver to see the whole road without a trouble.
GMC vehicles on cold countries like Canada an the Scandinavian region has the
standard Daytime Running Lights (DRL’) or the use of low beam headlights even
in daytime. This is activated when the vehicle’s engine is running. This acts
as a warning to other vehicles about your presence on the road. But the DRL has
a disadvantage. While it illuminates the road, it consumes a small amount of fuel,
especially when the headlights are made from incandescent bulbs.
Regular GMC headlights are set in to two modes: the low beam and the high beam.
The low beam which casts a low angle light preferably usable during city and on
road driving casts enough light to illuminate the road. The high beam on the other
hand casts a higher angle of light that illuminates the road farther than the
low beam.
