You want to drive a Geo that brings out strong and impressive power? Maybe you’re now thinking of injecting turbocharger, supercharger, or high-compression ratio engine to be able to achieve the performance you’ve been wanting. You could indeed get the amount of power needed for the purpose, but there are setbacks that might give you real headache if not given proper attention.

If you were replacing Geo head gaskets often even without any of the power boosters, you must expect more frequent need of replacement Geo head gaskets after installing one. The increased power that those equipments provide increases engine pressure. This causes head gaskets to easily get busted, just like most sealants. They’re limited capacity causes the materials to gradually lose quality when exposed to extremely high pressures and temperatures.

Head gaskets are designed to enhance the sealing between the cylinder head and exhaust manifold or header for the purpose of keeping heat and compression locked within the system. When they get damaged, the machine would most likely experience overheating and low compression in two adjacent cylinders. The engine oil might also get mixed with coolant, or the other way around. The best that can be done is to prevent head gasket blow up, and using higher quality Geo head gaskets is the solution. High-performance aftermarket head gaskets typically provide better sealing capacity than original ones.

Cork, aluminum, cast iron, copper and silicone made head gaskets with materials that can endure the pressure that power boosters could bring. The metallic compounds are reliable enough to withstand normal level of pressure, and the silicone is a synthetic heat-and-water-resistant substance ideal for sealing. Moreover, in order to achieve the desired result make sure that the Geo head gaskets are properly placed, perfectly fitted or sealed with that acceptable surface finish limits.
