Fuel Filter
No matter how durable a car claims to be, natural elements
in the environment can still cause damage. He daily use and abuse can
also affect your cars performance. Many factors can come in to
influence your cars driving capabilities. With so many intricate parts
and complex engineering, a cars engine can be damaged if not taken care
of properly and provided with maintenance and TLC.
One of the main factors that make the car run is the fuel. The fuel
provides the energy when burned to keep the car going. But sometimes,
particles may come in with the fuel from so many factors that could
damage the engine or its components. They could clog up the fuel
injections and other series of small passageways in the fuel system.
Dirt particles usually come from scales of rust in the tank cars,
storage tanks or drums. That is why it is essential that you have a
fuel filter installed in your car.
As the name suggests fuel filters are components of the fuel system
that is installed to filter out the dirt from the fuel to ensure
cleanliness and an optimized operation. This fuel filters are installed
in the fuel line. Fuel filters can be placed at any area between the
fuel tank and the carburetor. The fuel tank itself can be placed with a
fuel filter as well as in the fuel pump or in the carburetor. The most
regular position is between the fuel tank and a mechanical fuel pump.
In this case, the fuel enters a glass bowl and passes up through the
filter screen and out through an outlet. Any water or solid material,
which is trapped by the filter, will fall to the bottom of the glass
bowl where it can be easily seen and removed. From time to time, it is
necessary to change your fuel filter because they too can get clogged
up by all the dirt is has sifted and the accumulated dirt may add up to
the factors that can decrease the performance of the engine.
