Ford has produced numerous models for the past century. As one of the top producers
of automobiles, they are renowned throughout the world. And with that recognition
every Ford part is assured of quality and durability. But of course, it is a must
for every car, ever for a Ford to be properly maintained so that the vehicle’s
performance will be kept in its best form. And for a performance driven brand
like Ford, it is a must to start maintaining the engine.
Ford engine are composed of many mechanical parts. These parts perform specific
function to make the vehicle move. But one part that maintains all these is one
of the most essential components of the engine: the cooling system.
The cooling system is composed of radiator and other parts that come along with
it. The radiator or also known as the heart of the cooling system is located in
front of the engine and behind the grille to allow the air coming from this opening
to freely flow and retain the coolant’s normal temperature inside. But when there
is an excessive heat from the radiator, a pressure build-up causes the coolant
to expand and overflow from the radiator. The radiator overflow tank accommodates
this excess. The radiator overflow tank is located beside the radiator. The radiator
and the radiator overflow tank are connected through a radiator pipe. When the
engine and the radiator cools down, the coolant from radiator overflow tank returns
back to the radiator. This is possible because a vacuum inside the radiator pulls
back the coolant from the radiator overflow tank. Without the radiator overflow
tank, the coolant will overflow that will require the radiator to be refilled
over and over.
