Finding a vehicle that is cheap and affordable is easy. You can find
them from various used vehicle sellers or from vehicle dealers selling
certified pre-owned vehicles. You can even find a very affordable brand
new vehicle from some vehicle showroom. But finding one that is
affordable and worth buying is another thing. Among the few vehicles
that meet these criteria is the Ford Festiva. Old or new, the Ford
Festiva is a worthy buy because of its affordable cost and modest
performance.
The Ford Festiva is a compact vehicle marketed by Ford in
various international markets like U.S.A., Canada, Australia, and Asia
in the late 1980s until the early 1990s. In the U.S., the vehicle was
sold from 1988 until 1993. In other markets, however, the Ford Festiva
nameplate was used for a longer period of time.
While the vehicle was sold in many international markets as
the Ford Festiva, it was actually but a rebadged version of another
car, the Mazda 121. The Ford Festiva was a product of Ford\'s
partnership with the Japanese auto manufacturer Mazda and the major
hold of Ford in the stocks of South Korean auto manufacturer Kia. In
fact, in some other markets, the Ford Festiva was sold either as the
Mazda 121 or the Kia Pride.
Using any rating methodology, the Ford Festiva\'s performance
may be considered as modest, nothing more and nothing less. But
considering its low price, you definitely won\'t expect it to perform
any better than that. All Ford Festiva vehicles are equipped with a
1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, which shifted from a carbureted type for
the early production models to fuel injected types for later models.
The Ford Festiva was well loved for its practicality and gas mileage
but criticized much for its acceleration and cabin noise.
A slightly used Ford Festiva is good enough for a first
vehicle—well, good enough compared to the much older and higher mileage
vehicle you can find for the same amount. It will definitely provide
you a modest performance, enough to comfortably bring you from one
place to another. But if you want it to perform better, we recommend
