Muscle and Sports car enthusiasts come from all walks of life and
and from different ages although a large percentage of them come from
the younger generations. Most muscle cars and sports car are relatively
more expensive than ordinary cars. Operation and maintenance costs are
also high. Thus most sports car enthusiasts are from the elite and
affluent sectors of the society. Owning a muscle and sports car
remained a dream for many people.
Until Ford Motors Company came up with practical and generous idea to
manufacture something that can bridge the gap between younger sports
car enthusiasts and the cost. In 1981, Ford released a lineup of car
that made general enthusiasts (especially younger ones) of automotive
world realize their long time dream to own sports car without
dispensing amount of money that is within their budget. The
metamorphosis of this dream came true in the form of: Ford Exp, the
result of Ford’s concept that introduced for the first time a car that
are affordable but stylish and fashionable.
FORD EXP. Who would ever forget how these cars brought the
metamorphosis of the dreams of the enthusiast that enabled them to
participate in to the realm of automotive events? Although these cars
from Ford lived shortly, it hade served well its purpose into the
industry. Its launching was met with great interest and more response
than were expected. Started offering in 1981 as 1982 model of sport
coupe and was first seen with 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, 70 hp.
Ford EXP was Ford’s first two-seater car to be seen in
the market since 1957. After several years of launching the first Ford
Exp, three forms were added into the lineup with Ford EXP base model,
Ford Exp, Luxury Coupe, and the Ford Exp Turbo Coupe. Later productions
of these models went vacillating causing other models to be excluded in
the launching. The last year of production, which was 1988, was seen
with Ford Exp luxury coupes only.
