When you're an auto enthusiast by heart, you're an auto enthusiast through and through; you'll want what you think best suit you and your personality. You'll never settle for fast, sleek and powerful as words to describe your ride; you'll probably want the sleekest, the fastest and the most powerful specifications from a vehicle especially if we're talking about sports car. ndeed, sports car are expected to be created to
surpass past models and compete with those that are in the arena of
sleek vehicles. But its not just the market's dilemma after all;
mostly, automakers are the ones on the verge of these problems,
thinking how will their sports models be appreciated and manage to stay
on the top seller list. Chrysler was among those manufacturers having this
kind of dilemma, being an automobile maker that has many divisions
including the Jeep/Eagle Division that manufactured vehicles such as Eagle Talon.
The Eagle Talon was introduced in the market in the year 1990 along with two other two-door sports car, the Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Plymouth Laser; all were produced under the collaborative project of Chrysler and Mitsubishi called Diamond Star Motors (DSM). These were manufactured and sold from 1990 until 1998. All three were identical except that the Eagle Talon has a two-tone body color with its "greenhouse" (roof, pillars, door-mounted mirrors) always bearing the black color regardless of the body color. The Talons were available in three performance levels; two front-wheel drive and one 4-wheel drive. The Eagle Talons were available in model trims such as Base, TSi, TSi AWD and ESi. In general, the Eagle Talon is a two door sport hatchback that features a 2+2 seatings with its two front seats and two marginal fold down rear seats. A 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmissions were available as transmission options. It was also typical for the Eagle Talon to have a hood bulge on the left (driver's) side of the car meant to provide adequate clearance for the camshaft sprockets/timing belt cover on the engine.
