Stratus is one of the exceptional innovations of Dodge. In 1995, this
platform first came in the market along with Chrysler Cirrus and
Plymouth Breeze. During its introduction, Stratus came in as mid-size
4-door sedan just like the other two cars. Now this vehicle is oozing
with features that come both in sedan and coupe. It’s a vehicle
confidently boasting true power and aesthetics. However, the company
will be dropping the Stratus in the coming 2007 along with the Sebring.
New five-door hatchback will replace it.
Dodge Stratus is offering five different engines that show
performance and power enough to catch attention. The sedan includes
2.4-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve Dual Overhead Cam SMPI engine and
2.4-liter PZEV 16-valve DOHC engine that both generate 150 horsepower
and 160 lb-ft of torque. It also has got 2.7-liter V6 DOHC 24-valve MPI
engine that kicks 200 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque, and which
feature multi-point fuel injection. On the other hand the coupe is
featuring the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine which provide 147 horsepower,
and the 3.0-liter V6 Single Overhead Cam 24-valve engine, showing
horsepower that reaches 200. Matched for all sedan engines is a 4-speed
automatic transaxle while the coupe gives a choice o either 4-speed
automatic or 5-speed manual transmission system.
SE, SXT, ES, and R/T are the trims offered with sedan, and only the
SE is not included with the coupe. But basically, these two are way too
different from each other, possessing characteristics unique within
them. The SXT sedan features power mirrors, power windows, power locks,
16-inch aluminum wheels, AM/FM radio with CD player, and Standard
Sentry Key® and speed control. And R/T can’t be left behind with its
4-wheeldisc brakes that have ABS, 17-inch aluminum wheels, Premium
Gold® sound system with 120-watt amplifier, sports seats boosted with
leather accents, and new 360 degree ground effects.
The SE is always ready to give you real comfort with air conditioning,
4-speaker AM/FM cassette stereo. Added to those are tilt steering
wheel, power brakes, power steering, as well as 15-inch steel wheels
and 205/65TR15 tires. Highlighted on the R/T is its trunklid spoiler,
wide bodyside molding and body-dolor grille. And to let you feel that
we’re really in the modern generation, the ES provides eight-way power
driver’s seat, premium cloth bucket seats, interior light package,
illuminated vanity mirrors, and mini trip computer. The coupes show
lots of items just like the other platform.
