For a Dodge vehicle, it is important to maintain and protect the vehicle to achieve
the best possible service. From the interior to the exterior proper care should
be taken into consideration. And with amazing performance that is in every Dodge
vehicle, it is also important to take good care of the engine and its components.
Dodge engines are proven to be tough and reliable to any given terrain but its
big and monstrous engine that provides power to Dodge must me maintained to its
best form. And to achieve this, the radiator must be taken into special consideration.
The radiator is located at the front of the engine and behind the grille. It
is designed to be located in this position to allow the air from the opening of
the grille to freely enter and hit the radiator. In this way, the coolant inside
the radiator will retain the tolerable temperature while the engine is running.
During this time, there is a change of pressure occurring inside the radiator
which results the coolant to expand. For the radiator to contain this coolant,
a plastic made tank called the radiator overflow tank is needed.
Located beside the radiator, the radiator overflow tank accommodates the excess
coolant that is drawn away from the radiator. The two are connected by the radiator
pipe. And because the radiator creates a vacuum, the coolant that was transferred
to the radiator overflow tank will be sucked back to the radiator. Without the
radiator overflow tank, the coolant released from the radiator will spill out
to the road that could cause a repetitive refill of the radiator. The significance
of the radiator overflow tank to the radiator and the cooling system as a whole
contributes to the maintenance of the engine and the radiator’s life.
