Dodge has been around for almost a century. As Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company,
Dodge has produced its first vehicle in 1914 as a simple imitation of the Ford
Model T which eventually became popular among the middle class and surpasses the
sales of the Model T. The designs were not sophisticated then. The interior was
a simple steering wheel, transmission, and a pair seats and the exterior is no
more than what the interior can offer. In 1928, Chrysler Corporation bought the
Dodge and run the whole company until today. Through the years, Dodge has developed
their cars and improved their service as they gained the reputation to be one
of the best companies to market automobiles and light- to heavy-duty trucks.
As the years progressed, Dodge inserted several features to their vehicles. One
example was the improvement of the exteriors. As was mentioned, the first Dodge
vehicle possessed no more than the steering wheel, transmission, and a pair of
seats and the interior is in its simplest form. In 1929, largest Dodge truck with
big, powerful three-ton which featured a 241 cubic inch, 78 horsepower six cylinder
with a heavy duty 4-speed transmission and 4-wheel hydraulic brakes was released.
It also featured almost the same exterior. Several vehicles possessed the same
kind of body such as Dodge Commercials, Commercial Sedan, Commercial Express (pickup),
and the Commercial Panel in 1933.
The biggest development of the Dodge vehicles came in the fifties and up to the
seventies with different innovations and additions to maximize the functionality
of the Dodges- additions that include the lighting system. This includes parking
lights that comes with the lighting assembly located at the front and rear of
the vehicle. Today one of the most functional parts of the Dodge is the lights
system. It not only serve as an aesthetic to the vehicle but also a protection
and safety.
