Cadillac SRX
For a very long time, Cadillac has been an exclusive manufacturer of
luxury sedans, coupes and convertibles. But not anymore. With the entry
of Cadillac in to a more popular SUV, Cadillac joined BMW and Mercedes
Benz in the luxury sports utility vehicle classification with their
all-new and state-of-the-art SRX.
The Cadillac SRX is classified in various classes, it can be
called a sport utility vehicle, a sport wagon, or a crossover SUV. But
ultimately the SRX creates its own definition as a one-of-a-kind luxury
vehicle in the SRX.
First released in 2004, the SRX is powered by standard
3.6-liter Northstar, V6 engine that could produce 255horsepower and a
4.6-liter Northstar, V8, 320 horsepower engine for the upper trim. The
V8 can produce as much as 315 foot-pounds of torque that could rocket
the vehicle from 0 to 60 in an impressive 6.7 seconds. It is offered in
5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift gate in a rear wheel
drive. Tires compliment the chiseled edge body. The V6 receives the
standard 17-inch wheels with 18-inch option that is standard for the
V8.
Ride is superb as it adopts the glide of a sedan rather than the SUV. The interior
is very luxurious. Features
include wood interior trim,
heated front seats, and power-adjustable pedals, and UltraView sunroof
with a 5.6-square-foot opening to name a few. The Cadillac
SRX is a must-have for those who want to experience the luxury of the Cadillac
sedan yet enjoy the pride of owning an SUV.
