Buick Estate Wagon

Buick introduced its first Estate Wagon in the 1936 with the official name “Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon.” During that time, it was one of the largest cars Buick ever built. It also featured best interior by incorporating leather upholstery with mahogany trim inside and full carpeting as a standard feature. At some point, the Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon featured a three and four vent fenders, wood panel, exquisite grille design, and contoured hood. Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon production ran for more than two decades when the nameplate was retired in 1958.

There are several Buick station wagons built over the next decades including the Buick Skylark Sportswagon and the Century Caballero in an unusual four-door hardtop station wagon. But the name Estate returned with the Electra Estate station wagon in 1978.

Meanwhile, the Roadmaster Estate Wagon re-appeared in 1991 in a B-body station wagon with 5-liter, 170-hp V8 engine. This engine is relatively small for the 4400 lbs station wagon. In 1994, Roadmaster Estate Wagon received a more powerful 5.7-liter, 260-hp V8 engine. It carried 4,572-pound vehicle smoothly. The 115.9 in wheelbase vehicle drove in rear wheels. Interior is roomy that can house 6 adults comfortably to its leather-rich seating. When the second and third row seats were folded, the wagon can provide 92.4 cubic feet of cargo space. The Estate wagon was big, powerful and comfortable to drive.
