When BMW invaded the market of the automotive industry, their passion for building
elegant and powerful vehicle models was evident; with all the classical beauties
all BMW vehicles exudes. BMW is an automobile manufacturer that is among today’s
world leader in creating functional and performance vehicles. The name BMW already
speaks good features and reliable functionality for car enthusiasts; hence, many
wanted to have even one of BMW’s many vehicle platforms. Including in its vehicle
line-ups are BMW 6-Series vehicles like the BMW 635 CSI. The 6-Series vehicles of BMW had existed in the market since it was introduced
in 1970 until 1989 and returned in the market in the year 2004.
Among the 6-Series models of BMW, the 635 CSI is the most recognized. These models
came in with 9 Cylinder engines and a 5-speed manual transmission. The 635 CSI,
just like many BMW model line-ups, had also gone under several modifications and
innovations so to fit current market needs. In 1980, it was introduced in the
market carrying sports suspension, TRX alloy wheels and was available in metallic
paint while in 1982 it was introduced with 3430cc engine. The 1983 635 CSI models
got standard on-board computer, leather seating and sunroof. Come 1984, 635 received
color coded interiors, electric seats, sports steering wheel, a standard ABS and
an upgraded computer. In 1985, 6-Series models including the 635 CSI received
side repeater indicators while the 635 alone got standard M-technic spoiler.
Every year, 6-Series models of BMW received upgrades or additional features for
better overall appeal and comforts. After the 1985 changes, BMW never stop still
in improving the 635 CSI models; the 1986 models were available with an optional
switchable auto gearbox and sunroof deflectors were added. A year before it was
discontinued, in 1987, the 635 CSI received more luxurious and performance features;
including ellipsoidal headlights and foglights, color-keyed bumpers and spoilers,
air conditioning, tinted glass, memory electric seats and full leather upholstery.
And for some reason, the 635 CSI was discontinued along with all 6-Series models;
returning only in 2004.
With all the good features the 635 CSI has, there’s no wonder about it being
one of the most recognizable model of BMW until today. Though the returning 6-Series
was somewhat different from the 80’s models, the 635 CSI still got distinctive
characteristics among them; that’s why there are still many enthusiasts who love
to drive the said car. And knowing it’s from BMW, 635 are sure quality and performance
models one could ever have.
