If given the chance to improve the capabilities of
your Audi, specifically with its engine, most of you would surely not
let the opportunity pass. Supposing your Audi was given a high
performance turbo. Its speed will be the very first aspect with which
the equipment will have effect. Not all drivers can ride on to the
sudden change of engine capacity. Neither will they know what could
happen while hitting high speed levels. But, when the Audi speed
sensors are perfectly working, there’s not much to worry about.
Speed sensors are speed tracking electronic devices which work by collecting
speed signals and then sending the data to the corresponding ports.
There are two kinds of speed sensors commonly found in an automobile.
For Audi units that feature anti lock braking system, there’s the ABS
speed sensor. It’s basically a wheel speed sensor that measures the
rotational speed of the wheel. After collecting the wheels’ speed
signals, it will subsequently direct them to the ABS management
computer program of the vehicle. And then, these data are translated
into human understanding in order to track acceleration, braking
distances, lap times and cornering forces.
Since engine delivers speed capacity, its operation must also be
monitored. The second type of speed sensor called engine speed sensor
takes care of this job, by recording the rate of the crankshaft pin.
The same as what the ABS speed sensor does with the data it has
obtained, the engine speed sensor will also transfer the information
gathered to a certain computer program. This time an engine management
system which systematically shows relevant speed data and engine
functions, and then modify them for diagnostic routines.
A reliable speed sensor wouldn’t only provide accurate speed data, but
also let the driver monitor any operational trouble. Thus he could
anticipate upcoming problem and know what shift gear should he take.
