Honda introduced the Acura Legend together with Acura Integra in
1986 as a luxury brand expected to cater to auto users and enthusiasts
who wants elegant style, appeal and performance. Two generations were
produced with several revisions and enhancements done for each year of
production.
The first generation Acura Legend was produced from year 1986
to 1990. It was sold in North America which was then occupied with
prestigious European models that made competition rigid and tough. The
sedan version was equipped with a 2.5 L C25 V6 that has the capacity to
boost an impressive amount of power. Acura models for later years made
use of the 2.7 L C27 V6 engine. There were negative predictions
regarding its sales but the uniqueness of the Acura Legend proved
otherwise. Amidst tough competition it made its way to success which
opened the door for the second generation of Acura Legend.
The Legend was offered as a two-door coupe and four door sedan
with five trim levels. All makes have sporty components that matched
the hippy style and design. The interior is made up of leather ranging
from the linings to the seats. The exterior components were exquisitely
placed with stand-out features accentuated by the well trimmed lines
and angles running across its body panels.
From years 1991 to 1995, the second generation entered the
auto market equipped with a powerful and larger 3.2 L C32A engine. The
auto market during that time was filled with waves of new models and
makes which include the sporty Lexus and Infiniti together with other
European car brands. Although Acura Legend put up a good fight with its
first generation auto makes, the next batch failed to hold on to its
throne of success. Thus 1995 was its last year of production.
