Skyjacker Transmission Linkage
Skyjacker transmission linkage allows the realignment of the transmission and the shifter when you lift the height of your vehicle. Lifting the height of your vehicle has several advantages. By lifting the height of your vehicle, you increase the length of the suspension components, particularly the shocks. And in doing so, the capacity of your vehicle to carry heavy cargo is increased because the suspension now has higher tolerance for compression. Increasing the height of your vehicle also prevent sagging and collision of the chassis against the axle-wheel assembly. This transmission linkage features a shifter relocation bracket that allows you to relocate the shifter lever of your vehicle. By moving the shifter mounting from body to transmission, transmission sticking is eliminated. Transmission sticking usually happens when the vehicle is lifted because the transmission line is stretched thereby causing the shifter to be ineffective. The transmission linkage is a simple device that can extend the shift lever to accommodate the changes in height. Lifting the height of a sports utility vehicle or pickup truck usually involves only the rear suspension; hence, the angle of the transmission becomes steeper with respect to the ground and chassis.
