Skyjacker Track Bar
Another name for panhard rod is track bar. The track bar is the rod or linkage that can be located on the axle and runs from side to side. One end is attached to the axle and the other is attached to the chassis of the vehicle. Track bar is used to prevent the axle form moving from side to side. In some sense, the track bar is a brace that ensures the stability of the axle with respect to the chassis of the vehicle. This simple device was originally invented by the Panhard automobile company of France in the early twentieth century and since then has become a standard suspension component of modern automobiles. When replacing the panhard rod or tack bar of your vehicle, the Skyjacker track bar is a trusted name. Skyjacker track bar is a reliable replacement for the built in track bar of your vehicle. This track bar may also be used in modifying the height of your pickup truck or sports utility vehicle. It can be fitted to accommodate height changes in a vehicle. Like a standard track bar, the Skyjacker brand is a rigid bar that can be installed sideways parallel to the rear. By connecting the axle and chassis, the track bar prevents the sideway movement of the axle. It has pivots on either ends that allow it to swivel upwards and downwards only. The axle, in turn, is limited to move in the vertical plane only. Since this arrangement does not effectively locate the axle longitudinally, it is usually used in conjunction with trailing arms.
