On the sad side, stock shifters oftentimes fall prey to the modern manufacturing bean counter. Money saved here or there amounts to thousands of dollars saved for automotive manufacturers, but most of the time at the expense of engineering precision and driving performance. You probably understand that there is nothing better than rowing through the gears on a standard transmission. It doesn't matter if it's a heel-and-toe downshift into a corner or an up-shift after the apex; to obtain the right gear is what it is all about when genuine performance driving is talked about. The answer is to install a precision shifter in place of your stock unit. Replacement shifter is a 4 speed gated shifter with black insert molded shift knob.
