Rancho Shock Bracket
For most vintage cars, shock brackets are mounted in the lower control arm with one bolt and take all the load of the lower shock mount. To match the bolt on headlight mounts, you need a good-looking shock bracket. Threaded bungs are welded in the frame rails then the brackets are bolted to those bungs with the inclusion of polished stainless hardware. Urethane bushings are also included. Rancho shock bracket provides more ground clearance. It relocates the axle end of the shocks outboard by 5 inches on each side. Both the upper and lower bushings are turned so the 'eye's are directed from front-to-back. As a result, extreme articulation doesn't ruin the bushings. Stability is also improved. The sea leg orientation assists vehicle stability by widening the stance at the axle in order to provide better ride control for heavy tires. Rancho shock bracket increases the exhaust clearance. The SS moves the right rear shock further away from the exhaust rather than closer to as with other solutions. It also allows you to easily accommodate larger after-market tail pipes.
