NOS Nitrous System
The NOS Nitrous System has been in common use among race cars since the 1970s. This system is used to enhance the power of vehicles by the introduction of nitrous oxide. The nitrous oxide is considered to be one of the most powerful compounds of nitrogen. The system is fitted and perfectly matches racing cars, jets, skis, and trucks.
Technically, the NOS simply supplies more fuel to the vehicle’s engine by adding additional fuel nozzles. Sometimes, this can be done through the factory-fitted fuel injectors of the engine. Inside the engine, the nitrous oxide supplies thrice the level of oxygen required for the combustion of fuel. This oxide contains 40% oxygen by weight.
There is a combination of high-pressure lines, jets, bottles, nozzles, and solenoids in the NOS. The bottle contains the nitrogen oxide at a precise pressure of 1lb. The solenoid of the NOS, which is an electronically-controlled valve, gets the nitrogen oxide from the high-pressure line. The solenoid basically opens when it gets a signal of 12 volts. The nitrous oxide is then sent to the nozzle and into the vehicle’s engine. By this time, the NOS injects additional fuel. The setup of the solenoid and the nozzle is often referred to as a wet system in the engine. There are two types of NOS available in the market and in our website: the dry and the computer-controlled. In the dry nitrous-oxide system, the nitrous-oxide is supplied with the help of factory injectors. On the other hand, the computer-controlled valve increases the level and amount of time that the injectors are open to supply more fuel into the engine. Take note that a well and perfect-fitted nitrous-oxide system in your vehicle is hard to beat. However, an improper installation can cause severe engine damage in your auto.
