MSD Performance Parts MSD Ignition Coil Interface Module

The MSD coil interface module is primarily designed to ease up that installation of the MSD DIS ignition control to GM vehicles with coil packs. This module separates the coil terminals and the ignition module terminals. Every interface modules has four wires, two white wires and another two black wires that connect to the MSD DIS ignition. The white wires carry the high voltage to the coil terminals.

The black wires are responsible for triggering and supplying a 12 volt ignition source. And in order to properly install the DIS ignition, you will have to confirm which terminal of the ignition module supplies 12 volt. In order to do this, you may have to use the volt meter. And before beginning the installation review, you have to review first the instructions supplied with the module.

And when installing, mark the location of each spark plug wire and its corresponding coil packs. Then remove the spark plug wires from the coils. Remove the two bolts that retain the coil packs and then remove the coil from the factory ignition module. You will then notice that there will be two male terminals beneath each coil packs. And to ensure which terminal is the 12 volt source, use the volt meter and probe each terminal, with the ignition turned on. The color coded wires of the module that makes for easier installation process are actually molded using the Dupoint Rynite that features a high dielectric strength and connect directly to the factory terminals. This interface module and the harness is used to wire the MSD DIS-4 ignition module on selected vehicles, such as the GM line of vehicles, Buick V6 Grand National and the T Type, and this interface module mounts between the factory ignition module and the coil housing.
