	MSD Distributor Cap The vehicle’s distributor cap is used in the automobile engine to cover the distributor and the internal rotor. The vehicle’s rotor switches a high sparking voltage to the spark plugs so that these fire in the correct sequence. The distributor caps of your vehicle system are a prime example of a component that will eventually give in to heat and vibrations. And even if its bakelite housing has not broken or cracked, the carbon deposits and the eroded metal terminals can cause the distributor cap to fail.
