Hooker Headers
The Hooker brand has been manufacturing exhaust headers since the 1960s. The brand started making headers for the first of the factory big block muscle cars, making those premium quality headers for the street, the strip, and the oval track. From its simple beginning, Hooker has branched out to include a product line of headers and exhaust systems for many non-race applications such as RVs, tow vehicles, off-road autos, and for many daily drivers. The header is the part of the exhaust system that collects the exhaust gases from multiple engine cylinders into one pipe. These headers, also called the exhaust manifolds, are traditionally made from simple cast iron units which collect engine exhaust and deliver it to an exhaust pipe. However, most stock headers are usually restrictive in nature, thus they do not normally perform in an optimal manner. That is why when you want greater performance for your ride, your restrictive headers must be replaced with individual headers which are tuned for low restrictions and improved engine performance. This is where the Hooker brand comes in. Hooker features and manufactures headers which are not restrictive to unlock more engine power and greater efficiency. There are two types of headers. The collector style headers use pipes that merge into a collector that can be utilized by the mufflers. The collector headers can be used for the street or for the strip. The zoomie headers, on the other hand, have no collectors and are used exclusively among race cars. The Hooker Headers come in different types and for different applications: the Super Competition Adjustable Race Headers, the Super Competition Engine Swap Headers, the Super Competition Block Hugger Headers, and a number more. These different headers perform very well if used among vehicles which are compatible with these parts.
